Another Year Around the Sun

I know it has been quite a long time since I have posted anything, but this has been for good reason, my husband and I just moved across the country! While a potential move had been in the works for a bit, the actual move happened rather quickly – with less than a 2 week notice – since my husband (Joe) is actually keeping his job in NYC. This does change our travel plans a bit for the year, but is great news overall.  Joe and I are originally from California, but we lived on the east coast for 9 years, so it has been huge transition for us coming back “home”.

This weekend was my birthday, which is a day I absolutely love for many  reasons. The thing I love most about my birthday is really treating it as a day of reflection and a celebration of life. Each year, I write down my goals for the year and monitor them throughout the year, including a mid year check in.  In general, I do my intention and goal setting in January, but I do also have age/ birthday related goals every year too.  So this year as I reflect on the past year,  I thought I would share my goals with you. All of which are part of my journey through this “adult gap year”.

As I look back on my 33rd trip around the sun, I look back with nothing but extreme gratitude. I am so thankful to be the happiest and healthiest I have ever been (Mind, Body and Soul). I can’t wait for what is in store for the next year as we build our home and new life in San Francisco.

2018 Goals: A few notes on this: I do have a few more goals not listed below, and I also have more descriptive and specific goals within these buckets. This way I can measure my progress. I try to keep quantity under 10, and keep the BHAGS (big hairy audacious goals) to 1-2.

  1. Be Positive
    1. Always a WIP for me 🙂 Maybe being out of NYC will help?
  2. Meditate Daily

  3. Move to San Francisco

  4. Take a gap year

  5. Be healthy (this is about working out and eating).
    1. Doing a great job!
  6. Read two books a month
